Renn27 Engineering Co. set out to save the Porsche 996's and 997's which came with the highly problematic M96 and M97 engines. This generation of Porsche 911 have several fatal engine flaws; the intermediate shaft bearing failure (IMS), and cylinder scoring are commonly taking these beloved cars out of commission. The 996-generation followed by the 997 are the cheapest of all 911s, which can be partly attributed to the flawed motors. This can mean that an IMS bearing repair, or a replacement motor can cost more than the car itself. As a result, many of these cars are sidelined without a power plant. Our mission is fitting the Audi 2.7t engine into the back of these cars, without compromise.

Audi’s 2.7t engine is a turbo v6 consisting of an iron block with forged internals and 25 years of proven high-power performance. This engine can handily output double the Porsche factory output power at a fraction of the cost.
The Audi engine is 50lbs lighter and 4 inches shorter with a lower center of mass compared to the original Porsche engine. All six spark plugs and coil packs are accessible and even the timing belt can be replaced in situ.
The RennDME, a control module developed in house, enables plug and play compatibility between the engine and chassis. All creature comforts including air conditioning and cruise control can be retained.
